2024 In Review

As 2024 draws to a close and we reflect on the milestones of the past year, it’s hard to believe how far Bubbles and Squeak Pet Treats has come. From a simple idea conceived from the intense moments of caring for Rosie after her fight with Parvo, our passion-driven venture has blossomed into a thriving business, capturing the hearts of pet owners everywhere. As we take a stroll down memory lane, join us in celebrating a year filled with challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable memories.

Bubbles and Squeak was initially started as a supplemental income. When we began researching the requirements to turn this idea into a reality, were taken aback by the regulations involved. Since pet treats are commercial feed items, obtaining a license from the Department of Agriculture is mandatory, along with specific labeling for packaging. Each treat flavor must be lab tested and include a guaranteed analysis on the package. We initially started with four flavors and have added an additional three, with another to come after the first of the year.

As a business, we set out to spread joy through our products for pets, never anticipating that we would also facilitate a reunion that would transform our personal lives. This journey has taught us that sometimes, the simplest of beginnings, like a dog treat order, can uncover the most complex and beautiful stories. Upon launching Bubbles and Squeak, our second order came from the city where my husband was born and after engaging in conversation, we discovered that this particular customer was his sister. He had always known he was adopted and that he had siblings, but never anticipated getting to meet them. It has been a blessing and a joy to get to know both of his sisters, and we are thankful God opened this door through our new business.

Shortly after we were up and running, we applied and were accepted as an official Made In Oklahoma (MIO) business, a distinction of which we are truly proud. This program has provided us with numerous opportunities and events throughout the year, and we eagerly anticipate joining the MIO Coalition next year as well as applying to participate in the MIO stores in the Oklahoma and Tulsa State Fairs.

As a small home business, gaining exposure for our brand is of the utmost importance. One of the ways we have strived to get our product into the public eye is by partnering with various businesses. From mercantile shops to pet groomers, Bubbles and Squeak Pet Treats can be found in over ten stores across Oklahoma.

In late summer, we received an unexpected phone call that took us by surprise. The Better Business Bureau of Oklahoma (BBB) informed us that we were being awarded accreditation. This news came out of the blue, as we had not even investigated what it took to receive such accreditation. We were shocked by the announcement. It is indeed an honor to have been researched and selected by the BBB, especially since we have only been in business short time.

One of the greatest opportunities we had this year was to collaborate with a team of students from Oklahoma State University's Agricultural Communications program. This talented group of young women assisted us with a comprehensive rebranding in just a few short months. They not only designed a new website but also created a new logo, marketing materials, and professional photos of our products, as well as promotional photos featuring our dogs and other animals to highlight our treats. They transformed our simple concept into a polished, professional look that we are proud to share with the world.

Throughout the year, we have attended approximately 55 events across the great state of Oklahoma. From Enid to Oklahoma City, from Medicine Park to Broken Arrow, and from Glenpool to Robber's Cave State Park, we have shared our treats and met wonderful customers and vendors of all kinds. We have encountered numerous fun-loving dogs at pet adoptions and dog washes, hosted a Paws for Prevention Walk for suicide awareness, and made lifelong friends.

As we look ahead to 2025, we making plans and setting goals to make our second year even more memorable. We eagerly anticipate sharing it and our treats with you. Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting Bubbles and Squeak Pet Treats.
